There's no better place to learn about gardening than nature itself! Observing intact native plant communities can help you grow native plants more successfully.

This walking workshop will be a wonderful juxtaposition of wild lands and wild gardens. Learn how to observe the subtle differences of growing requirements in the wild that you can mimic in the garden. You'll begin to see which plants like to grow with each other and how can you place plants to work with the subtleties and attributes of your own land or garden.

Starting the day at Grouse Gap, below Mt. Ashland on the Siskiyou Crest, we'll walk out and back about a half mile each way on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), viewing and discussing the various plants and plant communities we see along the way to highlight the different species that can be grown in a garden…
